The incident occurred during the wedding reception of their child in the Sunter area of North Jakarta. During the reception, the suspect was reportedly heading to the stage to shake hands, but the situation escalated within seconds. Tanjung Priok Police Station’s Reskrim Unit Head AKP Handam Samudro stated that the suspect allegedly prepared a weapon before arriving at the event. Following the incident, the suspect was immediately detained, while the victim was rushed to the hospital for intensive treatment due to stab wounds. Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the attack. ‘The preliminary motive is believed to be revenge. The suspect carried a letter prepared the morning before attending the wedding reception,’ Handam said.
