Efforts to expand literacy and understanding of Web3 technology in Indonesia are being strengthened through cross-ecosystem collaborations. Upbit Indonesia has contributed to the opening of the Web3 Education Center (WEC) Blockchain Lab, an education and innovation centre based on blockchain located at Petra Christian University. The Web3 Education Center (WEC) is the result of a collaboration between Petra Christian University and IDNFT, supported by Upbit Indonesia. Through this support, Upbit Indonesia will provide industry perspectives, education on safe and responsible digital assets, and closer access to understanding between students and Web3 industry players. More than just a learning space, WEC is also designed as an innovation laboratory aimed at encouraging the birth of blockchain-based startups from the campus environment. This initiative is described as a concrete step in bridging the academic world with the evolving needs of industry. “Web3 opens up tremendous opportunities for Indonesia’s young generation, not only as users but also as innovators and creators of solutions. Through initiatives like the Web3 Education Center, we want to ensure that local talent has access to knowledge, ecosystems, and opportunities to develop to a global level,” said Resna in a written statement on Wednesday (13/5/2026). According to him, collaboration between industry, academics, and communities is key to building a sustainable Web3 ecosystem in Indonesia. “We believe that education is the main foundation in creating a healthy, safe, and trusted digital asset ecosystem. Upbit Indonesia is committed to continuing to support and collaborate on various initiatives that can increase literacy and encourage innovation in this field,” he added. Upbit Indonesia was established in 2018 as a subsidiary of Upbit APAC Pte. Ltd. Since 2019, the company has been registered as a Prospective Physical Crypto Asset Trader under BAPPEBTI. As the parent company, Upbit APAC operates Upbit Singapore, Upbit Thailand, Upbit Indonesia, and VerifyVASP, which is described as a Travel Rule solution for digital assets compliant with FATF standards.
