The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued a significant weather early warning for Thursday, 4 June 2026. Based on the latest analysis of atmospheric dynamics, two regions in Eastern Indonesia, namely Maluku and North Maluku, have been placed on Alert status regarding the potential for heavy to very heavy rain.

This condition is triggered by the detection of two active cyclonic circulation points in the northern region of Papua. This phenomenon has caused a significant concentration of rain clouds around the affected areas. BMKG detected the formation of cyclonic circulation in the waters north of West Papua and the North Pacific Ocean north of Papua. This system is triggering areas of convergence and confluence extending from Cendrawasih Bay to the western coast of Southwest Papua.

Additionally, wind convergence has also been observed along the northern coast of Aceh, the eastern coast of Riau, the southern Indian Ocean of Java, and the Makassar Strait. The combination of these phenomena increases massive rain cloud growth at various points across Indonesia.

Residents in the Maluku and North Maluku regions are urged to increase vigilance against the potential for hydrometeorological disasters such as floods, landslides, and strong winds due to the heavy rain alert status.

For the DKI Jakarta (specifically Gambir) and Bandung (Citarum) regions, validated data up to Wednesday night (3/6) shows weather conditions tending to be clear, with temperatures ranging between 21°C and 28°C.
