Weather Forecast for Yogyakarta Today: Rainfall to Decrease

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) of the Yogyakarta Special Region has released the weather forecast for the region today, Thursday (26/2/2026). After several days of heavy rainfall, the intensity of rainfall in the region is expected to decrease slightly.

Yogyakarta City

According to the official BMKG DIY Instagram account, @infobmkgyia, light rain is expected to fall across the city of Yogyakarta, including the Malioboro area, in the morning.

Sleman

Light rain is predicted to fall across the Sleman region in the morning, including the Prambanan temple area and surrounding areas, as well as the Kaliurang area and the slopes of Mount Merapi, namely the Pakem, Turi, and Cangkringan sub-districts.

Bantul

Light to moderate rain is predicted to fall across the Bantul region in the morning and during the day, including the coastal tourist areas in Bantul, such as Parangtritis Beach.

Kulon Progo

Light to moderate rain is expected to fall across the Kulon Progo region in the morning and afternoon, including the coastal tourist areas in Kulon Progo, such as Glagah Beach, and Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA).

In the Menoreh hills area, such as Samigaluh and Girimulyo, light rain is expected to fall from morning to noon.

Gunungkidul

Light to moderate rain is expected to fall across most of the Gunungkidul region in the morning and afternoon, including the coastal tourist areas in Gunungkidul, such as Indrayanti Beach.
