Weather Forecast for Indonesia Today, 15 June 2026: Light Rain Expected Across Most Regions
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has released its weather forecast for Indonesia today, 15 June 2026. The majority of the country is predicted to experience light rain.
According to official BMKG data, light rain is forecast for a number of major cities, including Ambon, Bandung, Bengkulu, Jambi, Kendari and Manado. Similar conditions are also expected in Manokwari, Palangka Raya, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, Samarinda, Semarang, Serang, Sofifi, Tanjungpinang and Yogyakarta.
Although light rain dominates, BMKG has issued a special warning for the Pontianak area. Residents are urged to be vigilant for potential rain accompanied by lightning or thunder today. Meanwhile, the intensity of rain in the Mamuju and Medan areas is predicted to increase to a moderate scale.
In contrast to the regions experiencing rain, several major cities are forecast to have more stable weather conditions. Jakarta, Banda Aceh, Banjarbaru, Merauke, Nabire, Padang, Sorong and Surabaya are expected to be cloudy throughout the day. For communities in central and eastern parts of Indonesia, such as Denpasar, Gorontalo, Jayawijaya, Kupang, Makassar, Mataram and Palu, the weather is predicted to be clear. Jayapura and Tanjung Selor are expected to experience clear to cloudy conditions.
