The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has released the weather forecast for Tuesday, 9 June 2026. Current monitoring of atmospheric dynamics shows the formation of three cyclonic circulation points, which are triggering the extension of convergence lines and a slowdown in wind speeds across various regions of the archipelago.

Based on the latest weather monitoring, three cyclonic circulations have been observed forming in the East Pacific Ocean near the Philippines, the Indian Ocean west of West Sumatra, and the southern part of the Makassar Strait. These systems are actively creating areas of wind speed deceleration (convergence) and wind meeting points (confluence).

Other secondary convergence paths are predicted to stretch widely from the Malacca Strait, the Andaman Sea, North Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, and the Riau Islands, through to West Kalimantan, the Celebes Sea, and ending in the Arafura Sea.

The accumulation of moist air masses along this convergence belt significantly increases the potential for the growth of convective rain clouds in the affected areas.

The combination of these atmospheric phenomena triggers significant potential weather impacts. BMKG advises the public to increase preparedness, particularly for residents living in areas prone to flooding and landslides.

Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and prepare necessary equipment if they must engage in outdoor activities amidst the potential for heavy rain.
