Wealth Reaches Rp 328 Billion, Sahroni Refuses to Accept DPR RI Salary
Deputy Chair of Commission III at the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Ahmad Sahroni, was seen at the DPR building in Jakarta today. Sahroni had previously undergone a period of sanctions after being penalised by the DPR’s Ethics Council (MKD) concerning his comments regarding calls for parliamentary dissolution on 25 August 2025.
Now, in his appearance before the media, he has stated that he will not take a single rupiah of his salary as a legislator until the end of his term in 2029.
“My move perhaps is that my salary as a DPR member, I want to hand it over to the Kitabisa foundation so it can be used appropriately to help those who need it. But because this is transparent in nature—an open foundation—we hand it over to Kitabisa. It’s more straightforward that way,” Sahroni said, as quoted by Kompas.com on Tuesday (10 March 2026).
“Hopefully I can help. Because previously people thought that I was taking people’s money, receiving money from taxes, right? All this time we didn’t even know how much the salary was. Well, that explains that there’s no other intention, but I personally, because I’m also a businessman, yes, I’ll give it to those who need it through the Kitabisa foundation. It’s humanitarian in nature,” he explained.
Sahroni is known to be passionate about collecting personal vehicles. In addition to property holdings, his reported wealth totals Rp 328.91 billion after deducting debts valued at Rp 34.95 billion, as reported to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
