We will win over terrorists

First of all, I'd like to express my condolences to all victims and people affected by the chilling tragedy that hit Kuta and Jimbaran, which claimed 23 lives and injured hundreds.

I invite all people to gather and show the terrorists our strength. Our spirit of togetherness is what stops us from falling apart. Even though we were bombed, we won't separate and peace among us will last forever in this archipelago.

Terrorists are inhumane and conduct inhuman acts. So we have to always be alert and maintain our commitment to fight them. I was really impressed with the statement of one Australian tourist when asked why he didn't cancel his trip to Bali just a day after the chilling tragedy: "Terrorists win if I don't go there," which shows that the terrorists' message of intimidation didn't really work.

I really support the law enforcers' efforts to increase preventive measures in order to ensure such carnage won't ever occur again. And I hope the ongoing investigation will be fruitful soon and the perpetrators taken to court.

The most important point is the proactive involvement of members of society to prevent such a thing recurring. They could be the eyes and ears of our law enforcers by reporting anything suspicious.

By doing all that, I'm sure we'll win this war against the cruelty of inhumane people.
