We Pause We Rise tackles perimenopause with RISE & BLOOM
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can affect women’s physical and emotional wellbeing, as well as their quality of life, but these health issues are still rarely discussed openly in society.
To improve understanding of women’s health during these stages, We Pause We Rise and Magnolia Collective Wellness hosted RISE & BLOOM at Hallf Patiunus in South Jakarta on Sunday (18 October), coinciding with World Menopause Day 2026.
The event featured educational discussions with medical professionals and practitioners on various aspects of women’s health, including hormonal changes, perimenopause and menopause symptoms, treatment options, nutrition, mental health, and sexual health and intimacy.
“RISE & BLOOM brings together a series of educational discussions with experts and practitioners on various aspects of women’s health. Topics include hormonal changes, perimenopause and menopause symptoms, treatment options, including hormone replacement therapy (HRT), nutrition, mental health, mindfulness, and sexual health and intimacy,” Magnolia Collective Wellness Indonesia Chief Medical Officer Dr Dinda Derdmeisya, an obstetrician and gynaecologist, said in a written statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Perimenopause is the transition period leading up to menopause, marked by hormonal changes. During this stage, women may experience physical and emotional changes that affect their daily activities.
Menopause, meanwhile, is a natural stage in a woman’s life. Understanding the changes in the body, possible symptoms and treatment options suited to each individual is important.
We Pause We Rise founder Mia Lukmanto said the event aimed to provide a safe space for women to access information, share experiences and build community support as they navigate this stage of life.
She said access to accurate information and community support could help women understand the changes in their bodies and go through this phase with greater confidence.
Alongside the health discussions, RISE & BLOOM featured activities combining fitness, relaxation, self-expression and social interaction. Participants were also introduced to strength training and watched “Runway After 40”, a fashion show celebrating the confidence and personal expression of women aged over 40.
Speakers included Lovepink co-founder Madelina Mutia, psychologist and clinical sexologist Zoya Amirin, and clinical nutrition specialist Dr Juwalita Surapsari, M.Gizi, Sp.GK, FINEM, from Halofit by Halodoc.
Through RISE & BLOOM, the organisers are seeking to foster more open discussion of women’s health in midlife, alongside access to trusted medical information and support suited to women’s needs.
