We need to help
We need to help each other
From Rakyat Merdeka
The country's development will not run smoothly if there is no unity and unity can only be established if citizens are willing to help each other.
Therefore, all members of society should always avoid bad behavior and promote good deeds. The ideal of mutual help in this country has now lost much of its significance. For instance, kampung residents now seem to prefer to hire a number of people to keep guard of their neighborhood rather than share the burden among themselves.
What about national development? The New Order Cabinets had emphasized physical development and did very little for the moral development of the people. No wonder that under such circumstances corruption was rife.
Megawati's administration with her mutual-help Cabinet is hoping to bring new spirit in order to materialize national aspirations. The mutual-help spirit should start in the family and the same ideal should also be translated into all aspects of life, including the Cabinet's agendas.
