Wayang Jogja Night Carnival Tomorrow: Note the Traffic Diversions!

Tomorrow, the Wayang Jogja Night Carnival 2026 will be held to commemorate the 270th anniversary of the City of Yogyakarta. Here are the traffic diversion details.

“Citizens of Yogyakarta, in conjunction with the implementation of the Wayang Jogja Night Carnival 2024 on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, traffic diversions will be implemented on several road sections around the Malioboro area and its surroundings,” stated the Yogyakarta City Police Traffic Unit via their Instagram account, @satlantasjogja, as reported on Tuesday (6/10/2026).

It is noted that the diversions will begin tomorrow, Wednesday (7/10), at 1:00 PM WIB. The event will take place along Jalan Malioboro up to Titik Nol Kilometer (Zero Point).

According to the information from the Yogyakarta City Police, the implemented traffic diversions are as follows:

• The entrance to Malioboro from the east will be diverted to Jalan Pasar Kembang.

• Closures will be implemented on the side streets of Malioboro that lead into Jalan Malioboro.

• Traffic flow regulation at the Legend 3-way intersection towards Jalan Abu Bakar Ali.

• Closure of the Korem intersection leading into Jalan Malioboro.

• Traffic diversion at the Gondomanan 4-way intersection towards Jalan Brigjen Katamso.

• Traffic diversion at the RS PKU Muhammadiyah 3-way intersection from the west towards Jalan Bhayangkara.

• Traffic diversion at the Pangurakan 3-way intersection towards the Ibu Ruswo 3-way intersection and Jalan Kauman.

• Traffic flow regulation at the Ngabean 4-way intersection towards Jalan KH. Ahmad Dahlan.

“We urge all road users, particularly motorcyclists and motorists, to avoid the routes affected by the traffic diversions and to choose alternative routes. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please remain orderly, obey traffic signs, and follow the directions of officers on the ground,” added the Yogyakarta City Police Traffic Unit.
