Way Kambas National Park in Lampung on Fire Again

Way Kambas National Park in East Lampung Regency is once again experiencing a fire. As of now, the firefighting process is still ongoing.

The fire is reported to have started on Saturday night (19/09/2026). The fire hotspots appeared in the Resort Cabang area.

The Head of the Way Kambas National Park Office, MHD Zaidi, confirmed the incident. He stated that teams are still working to extinguish the flames to prevent them from spreading further.

“It is true (there is a fire); the extinguishing process is currently ongoing,” he said, as reported on Monday (21/09/2026).

Regarding the total area affected by the fire, Zaidi noted that it cannot yet be estimated as the teams are still stationed at the fire sites.

“It cannot be calculated yet because the extinguishing process is still in progress,” he explained.

He further explained that the fire was detected at three different locations, though one point has reportedly been successfully extinguished. “There were three, but information from the team indicates that one point has been successfully put out,” he concluded.
