Wave II Peak Return Traffic at Bakauheni on 28-29 March

Managing Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), Heru Widodo, stated that the peak return flow for Hari Raya Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah at the Bakauheni-Merak crossing will occur on H+2, or Tuesday, 24 March 2026. “The peak return flow is happening today, 24 March 2026, for the first wave, and is predicted to occur again on 28-29 March 2026,” said Heru in Bakauheni on Tuesday, 24 March 2026. He explained that travellers at Bakauheni Port are still arriving continuously and crowding several dock parking lots and passenger waiting areas. According to Heru, ASDP is continuously coordinating intensively with BMKG to monitor weather conditions and urges service users to prioritise safety aspects during sea travel. He stated that the crossing route connecting Sumatra and Java islands is a vital route in supporting community mobility as well as national logistics distribution. Therefore, ASDP has implemented a single tariff system for mudik and return flow transport for Hari Raya Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah starting from 23 March 2026. “We have implemented the single tariff; the executive tariff is applied as regular, so our seven docks will apply regular tariffs during the return flow period from 23 to 29 March 2026,” he said.
