Water Volume in Gembong Reservoir Shrinks Drastically
The Gembong Reservoir in Pati Regency, Central Java, is experiencing a significant reduction in water volume due to the ongoing dry season. The impact of the drought is visible through rafts stranded in the corners of the reservoir as of Monday (14/09/2026).
According to data from the Gembong Reservoir operators, the water volume, which previously reached approximately 9.5 million cubic metres, has now dwindled to around 2.4 million cubic metres.
Despite this sharp decline, it is estimated that the remaining water supply will be sufficient to meet irrigation requirements for five districts within the Pati Regency for the next two weeks.
