Water supply interrupted

The city-owned water company PAM Jaya temporarily stops the supply of water in a number of areas throughout the city for two days from yesterday.

Eben Koesbini T., technical director of the company, said on Wednesday that the temporary stoppage takes place while the firm drains and cleans up its reservoir in its Pejompongan II production center in Bendungan Hilir, Central Jakarta.

He said that the stoppage affects water supplies in the areas of Tanah Abang, Menteng, Kemayoran, Penjaringan, Muara Karang, Jalan Lodan, Tanjung Priok, Tambora, Tomang, Palmerah and Grogol.

Customers are requested to be understanding about the stoppage, he said, adding that the water supply will return to normal today as soon as the cleaning activities are completed. (hhr)
