Residents of the KS Tubun flats in Palmerah sub-district, West Jakarta, have complained about the piped water supply being cut off from morning until night on Monday (20/4/2026). One resident, Ani (40), said that the water from PAM had reportedly stopped flowing since 8.00am WIB and had not resumed by Monday night. “The water outage is disrupting our daily activities. We are struggling when it comes to using the toilet,” Ani said in a written statement confirmed by Kompas.com via short message on Monday night. However, the schedule was delayed until 6.00pm WIB. “Until nightfall, the water was still not available,” Ani added. Ani also revealed that neither the flats’ management nor PAM Jaya provided prior notice regarding the water supply interruption. As a result, residents did not have time to store reserve water. This situation has made it difficult for several residents to meet their sanitation needs. Some have even been forced to buy refilled gallon water for toilet use. Meanwhile, Senior Manager of Corporate & Customer Communication at PAM Jaya, Gatra Vaganza, stated that there were no supply issues from their side to the KS Tubun flats. He said that they had coordinated with the flats’ management regarding the situation. “The information we received is that draining of the ground water tank is being carried out there,” Gatra said when confirmed by Kompas.com via short message on Monday. As a form of assistance, PAM Jaya deployed five water tankers to help refill the water tank. This assistance also aims to help the process of flowing water from the lower reservoir section so it can rise to the upper part. Gatra added that, based on communication with the management, the disruption occurred due to the draining process of the water reservoir, which is the responsibility of the flats’ management.
