Water supply down 5%

UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: The water supply of the city water company in Lekopaccing has fallen by five percent because of the drought, the Antara news agency said.

Director P.A. Tanriajeng said the city might be facing a water crisis if the decline persists.

To conserve water, the company has begun a rationing system for its customers, he said.

The company has recently built a new water plant with a capacity of 200 liters per second in the Maccini Sombala subdistrict. The plant will start operation next year. (pwn)
