JAKARTA – Water supply from PAM Jaya across five residential communities (RT) in RW 1 Ancol Barat 1, Pademangan, North Jakarta, has reportedly been cut for a week.

A local resident, Isma, stated that water at her home suddenly stopped flowing without any prior notification from PAM Jaya.

“There was no notice at all. It just suddenly went out,” she said when met by Kompas.com on Monday (2 March 2026).

Isma noted that before the complete outage, the water had an odour and low pressure. “First the water smelled bad, then gradually it stopped. It would flow, then stop again,” she explained.

Another resident, Rosidah (35), complained about the situation as it forced her to transport water daily from a tanker truck to meet household needs.

“It’s been a week now. It’s completely gone, there’s nothing at all,” she said.

Like Isma, Rosidah also stated there was no prior notification before the water supply was cut off. “I don’t really know why it stopped. The water just suddenly went out,” she said.

She hopes the water supply from PAM Jaya will be restored soon so residents no longer have to carry water from tanker trucks.

“I just hope it comes back on soon, please don’t let it stay off for long,” she added.

Rosidah disclosed that she carries approximately ten jerrycans of water daily over a distance of about 100 metres from the distribution point to her home.

“It’s exhausting carrying it all the time. About ten jerrycans a day, a distance of about 100 metres from here to the house. Even small children are fetching water. It’s been raining continuously and we’re in the fasting month, goodness,” she said.

She emphasised that water has completely stopped flowing for the past week.

“It’s been a week now, yes. It’s completely gone, there’s nothing at all. The water just suddenly went out,” she repeated.

Kompas.com attempted to request a statement from PAM Jaya’s Senior Manager of Corporate and Customer Communication, Gatra Vaganza, regarding this incident. However, no response had been received at the time of publication.
