Water supplies stepped up

BANGKOK (AFP): Bangkok Asian Games organizers are having to
step up water supplies for thirsty athletes in hot and humid Thai
capital.

They are now providing around 240,000 bottles of water a day
for the 8,000 athletes and officials. "We were also providing
ice, but the trouble is it started turning into water so that
maybe discontinued," said Games spokeswoman Valerie McKenzie.
