Water shortage hits Bojonegoro villages

BOJONEGORO, East Java: More than 50 villages in Bojonegoro regency are facing water shortage following a prolonged drought in the area.

Only 26 villages in the province suffered from similar drought problems last year.

Muchid, the chief of family planning and social welfare at the Bojonegoro regental administration, said on Thursday the government would drop clean water to villages suffering from shortages.

Rain is not expected to come to the area until October. -- Antara
