Water needed in drought-hit districts

WONOGIRI, Central Java: Residents in the districts of Pracimantoro and Giritontro face a shortage of clean water, an official said.

Budisena said residents had forwarded requests for clean water to be sent to the districts. The area has been hit by a drought since early May, he said, adding that residents would have to pay Rp 523 per cubic meter for the water.

Budisena said the hardest hit areas were five villages in Giritontro district and nine in Pracimantoro. "We'll send the water as soon as possible," he said. (har)
