Water-logged Road Causes Bogor Motorcycle Rider to Be Thrown and Sustain Serious Injuries

A single-vehicle traffic accident involving a motorcycle occurred on Jalan Raya Jakarta-Bogor, in the Cibinong district of Bogor, West Java. The motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries.

‘As a result of the accident, one person sustained serious injuries—the motorcycle rider on a Yamaha R15 with the initials MRW,’ said Acting Head of the Bogor Police Traffic Unit’s Gakkum, IPDA Ares Rahman, on Saturday (7 February 2026).

The incident occurred at around 06:30 local time this morning. Rahman said the accident began when the victim was travelling from Cibinong towards Bogor.

‘Upon reaching the scene, while crossing a waterlogged area at high speed, the rider lost control,’ he explained.

The rider swerved after hitting a pothole that was flooded. The rider was flung several metres before lying on the road.

‘The rider sustained injuries to the head and was taken to RSUD Bakti Pajajaran in Cibinong,’ he said.

In circulating video, the casualty is seen lying motionless on the road with his motorcycle. Part of the road was closed while awaiting the evacuation of the victim to hospital.
