Water company seeks investors
TANGERANG: The municipal tap water company, PDAM Tirta Dharma, is looking for private investors to enable it to extend its services.
"We produce 280 liters of water per second to serve some 280,000 customers. However, due to the limited facilities that we possess, we are distributing water to only 11,000 customers," company director Muharram said on Tuesday.
Another 60,000 customers had to use the service provided by Tangerang regency water company PT Tirta Kerta Raharja, he added.
Muharram said a private company, PT Bintang Hytiem Jaya, had helped to channel 30 liters of water per second to serve 30,000 customers in the Graha Bintaro area.
"The Ministry of Settlement and Regional Infrastructure is carrying out a feasibility study into the districts where we can install more pipes. The results will be announced in December," he said. --JP
