Drivers travelling along the Mohamed Bin Zayed (MBZ) Elevated Road are urged to anticipate potential congestion over the coming week. PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) will carry out road maintenance and bridge joint works along the elevated toll road from Wednesday, 20 May, to Sunday, 25 May. Works will be carried out on both the Cikampek-bound and Jakarta-bound carriageways, and will take place at night into the early hours, from 22:00 to 05:00 WIB. Desti Anggraeni, General Manager of Operations and Maintenance at PT JJC, confirmed that the MBZ can continue to be traversed during the works. However, road users are asked to prepare for potential slowdowns around the work area. ‘Although bridge maintenance work is being carried out, the MBZ in the Cikampek direction as well as the opposite direction remains in normal operation,’ Desti said in an official statement on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. Desti added that road users can utilise the existing Jakarta-Cikampek Toll to avoid congestion on the MBZ. ‘As a precaution against travel disruptions due to road maintenance on the MBZ, road users can use the existing Jalan Tol Jakarta-Cikampek,’ she said. The works involve rubber cones, night-time work-location markers, and the deployment of traffic controllers. In addition, information about the maintenance is also communicated via Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) on MBZ towards Jakarta and Cikampek so road users can plan their journeys in advance.
