Residents of Bandung can now request household waste collection services through the Pastiklola application. This service is the result of an operational collaboration between Pastiklola and Waste4Change, designed to bridge digital booking with the physical processes of waste sorting and processing.

Available on both iOS and Android devices, the application allows users to activate the service, schedule collections, and monitor their service history via their smartphones. Once collected, the waste is transported to Waste4Change’s processing facilities for inspection, further sorting, and treatment according to the type of material.

CEO of Waste4Change, Mohamad Bijaksana Junerosano, stated that the service was designed to address the needs of citizens who already sort their waste at home but remain uncertain about the management process once it is collected.

“The awareness to sort waste needs to be supported by a system that provides certainty regarding the journey of the waste after it leaves the home. Together with Pastiklola, we want to connect the habit of sorting with an easily accessible collection service and a responsible processing process,” said Junerosano, commonly known as Sano, in a statement on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

Under this partnership, Pastiklola manages service activation, scheduling, collection, digital recording, and customer support through the app. Waste4Change is responsible for the inspection, further sorting, and processing of the waste at its facilities.

Collected waste is weighed and recorded in the system. Materials that still hold utility value are separated and directed towards recovery or recycling streams, while other materials are handled based on their specific characteristics and processing pathways.

Waste4Change noted that the secondary sorting at the Waste4Change Recovery House facility serves as a quality control measure to ensure materials are directed to the appropriate processes.

Nevertheless, sorting at the source remains vital, as it reduces contamination and maintains material quality, thereby increasing the potential for reuse.

The service was officially launched in the Kiaracondong District, Bandung, on Wednesday (16/09/2026). The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives from the Bandung City Environmental Office, as well as officials from the Kiaracondong and Batununggal Districts.
