JAKARTA (JP): Experts from the Ministry of Public Works and
the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) underlined here
yesterday the importance of ground and surface water quality and
the need to collect correct data.
In a two-day seminar on human waste and domestic waste water
disposal in Bekasi, they suggested that monitoring is also needed
to provided sanitation facilities.
The seminar, which ended yesterday and was sponsored by the
directorate general of human settlements of the Ministry of
Public Works and JICA, presented a number of speakers, including
JICA expert Mitsumi Kaneko and Darmawan Saleh of the Ministry.
The main topic of seminar, which was attended by 60
participants from various government institutions and state-owned
companies, discussed the development of technology and the
management of waste water disposal based on Indonesian and
Japanese research. (hhr)
