Waste-to-Fuel Solution Accelerates Clean Energy Transition in Indonesia
Amidst the global urgency to reduce carbon emissions and address the environmental crisis, Asiana Technologies, an innovator in the field of New and Renewable Energy (EBT), has officially introduced cutting-edge waste-to-fuel technology.
This strategic move serves as a concrete response to two major challenges: the accumulating volume of unmanaged waste and the high dependency on fossil fuels. Through various innovations and solid waste processing facilities, Asiana Technologies is able to transform various types of solid waste, which have previously been an environmental burden, into high-calorific value renewable energy sources.
Various waste sources, including household waste, landfills, traditional markets, modern markets, industrial, plantation, agricultural, and livestock waste, have been successfully converted into alternative fuels known as New and Renewable Energy (EBT) with a calorific value exceeding 3500Kcal/Kg. This breakthrough represents a tangible step by Asiana Technologies to actively resolve waste issues in various regions across Indonesia.
Asiana Technologies has signed cooperation agreements with several local governments to process waste into alternative fuel, including the Bekasi Regency Government for the Burangkeng landfill, the West Java Provincial Government for the Sarimukti landfill, and several other regions.
The company has also signed a Renewable Energy Sale and Purchase Agreement with Indonesia’s largest cement manufacturer, Indocement, to supply 10,000 tonnes per day to five Indocement plants located across five provinces in Indonesia.
‘We believe that waste is not the end of a cycle, but the beginning of new energy. Through the waste-to-fuel technology we have developed, Asiana Technologies not only reduces waste volumes across various sectors but also distributes more environmentally friendly alternative fuels for various power generation industries, cement industries, petrochemicals, ceramics, glass, steel, and more,’ said Poltak Sitinjak, Inventor and CEO of Asiana Technologies.
The technology implemented by Asiana Technologies adopts the principles of a circular economy, where production processes are designed to minimise carbon footprints and maximise resource efficiency. The resulting alternative fuel is claimed to have competitive characteristics and is ready to serve as a partial or total substitute for conventional fuels.
With a diverse raw material portfolio, ranging from upstream (households and livestock) to downstream (landfills), the company is optimistic about assisting the government and the private sector in achieving global Net Zero Emission (NZE) targets.
