Waste pollutes water source

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: Residents of Landasan Ulin district have complained of industrial waste disposed by a rattan factory.

The residents said that PT Multi Agung Rattan Industry dumps its industrial waste into a river which they use for various household purposes.

They said that the contaminated water had caused skin and eye diseases over the past three years, the Antara news agency reported. (par)
