Waskita Toll Road Ensures Pemalang–Batang Toll Road Ready to Support Smooth Lebaran Exodus and Return 2026
PT Waskita Toll Road (WTR) has confirmed the readiness of PT Pemalang Batang Tol Road (PBTR), the toll road operating company managing the Pemalang–Batang toll route, ahead of the peak Lebaran exodus for the Islamic year 1447 Hijriah.
The peak outbound traffic is predicted to occur on 18 March 2026, whilst return traffic is expected to take place on 24 March 2026.
To support smooth travel during the Lebaran exodus and return period, PBTR has undertaken various preparations covering both infrastructure and operational aspects of the Pemalang–Batang toll route.
PBTR has ensured that all road sections are in good condition and ready for use by road users, and all toll equipment operates properly.
PBTR has also established service posts for road users located at Rest Area KM 338 A towards Semarang and Rest Area KM 319 B towards Jakarta.
These posts are equipped with various facilities, including health services and ambulances, rest areas for road users, and electric vehicle charging stations. These posts will operate 24 hours daily throughout the Lebaran exodus and return period.
PBTR has given special attention to several locations that could potentially become accident-prone areas during travel.
As a mitigation measure, PBTR has installed warning signs and safety notices at these locations.
Additionally, rumble strips have been installed and mobile variable message signs (VMS) with safety messages displayed through patrol vehicles have been deployed to heighten road user awareness.
Buyung I Lukman, Corporate Secretary of PT Waskita Toll Road, stated that the Pemalang–Batang toll road plays a strategic role in supporting smooth Lebaran exodus and return traffic.
Beyond ensuring infrastructure and operational readiness, WTR through PBTR also supports government policy by implementing a 30 per cent toll rate discount on the Pemalang–Batang toll route.
The discount applies during the periods of 15 March 2026 at 00.00 WIB until 16 March 2026 at 24.00 WIB and 26 March 2026 at 00.00 WIB until 27 March 2026 at 24.00 WIB.
Through these various efforts, WTR together with PBTR is committed to continuing to provide reliable toll road services to support safe, comfortable travel for the public reaching their destinations.
