Waskita Restructuring Focused on Strengthening Toll Road Business

Head of the State-Owned Enterprise Supervisory Board and Chief Operating Officer of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, stated that one direction of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk’s restructuring is to strengthen its focus on the toll road business. “Waskita will become the second toll road company after Jasa Marga, that is fine as long as it is calculated correctly,” Dony said in an official statement on Wednesday, 22 July 2026. Dony explained that with its business characteristics providing long-term income, toll road management is considered to have strong prospects as a foundation for the company’s business. However, before entering the development phase, Waskita’s financial condition must be ensured to be healthy, so the company has the ability to independently meet its obligations, strengthen stakeholder trust, and open opportunities to obtain funding, including through the capital market. According to Dony, Waskita is being directed not merely to extend the period for settling obligations or postpone existing problems, but to build a healthier and more sustainable business foundation. He said the company’s recovery process must be structured based on realistic, measurable, and accountable calculations. The State-Owned Enterprise Supervisory Board together with Danantara will continue to oversee the restructuring process to ensure it does not stop at resolving short-term issues but results in a comprehensive transformation. Through a more focused business model, stronger financial structure, and improved governance, Waskita is expected to grow as a healthy, competitive company that does not face the same problems in the future.
