PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk has assured that the construction of the People’s School (SR) in Tuban Regency, East Java, will be completed in June 2026 as part of the company’s commitment to supporting the government’s strategic programmes. “The school construction will be completed on 20 June 2026 because it is part of our commitment to supporting the government’s strategic programmes, especially those that directly impact public welfare,” said PT Waskita Karya’s Site Manager Agus Saputra in Tuban, East Java, on Thursday. Agus explained that work on the People’s School building in Tuban began on 28 November 2025 and has currently reached approximately 26 percent completion, including the substructure foundation, backfill, fencing, concrete, and other elements. This includes the ongoing process of excavating pile foundations for the Primary School (SD), Junior High School (SMP), and Senior High School (SMA) buildings, as well as installing permanent concrete fencing. “The company continues to strive to accelerate the work so that it can be utilised soon and must be completed on time,” he clarified. According to him, Waskita Karya is not only constructing buildings from primary to high school levels but also building student dormitories and teacher quarters, a canteen, sports facilities, worship areas, and a multipurpose hall. As a state-owned construction company with 65 years of experience, he continued, Waskita strives to build infrastructure that provides significant benefits to society. “If all Indonesian children receive adequate educational facilities, then the nation’s progress in various fields can be quickly realised,” he explained. In addition to constructing the People’s School in Tuban, Waskita is also working on school projects in Gresik Regency, Jombang, Sampang, and Surabaya City, East Java. Moving forward, Waskita Karya will continue to build more People’s Schools to help the government achieve the target of 500 People’s Schools by 2029. “For us, developing this project is not just about completing the construction, but also part of our responsibility to educate Indonesian children,” he said.
