Waskita Karya Distributes Aid to Earthquake Victims in NTT
PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk has distributed humanitarian aid to communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province. Thousands of logistics packages were sent to various areas in Nagekeo Regency to support post-disaster handling.
In addition to sending staple foods such as rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, and eggs, the company also provided baby supplies including biscuits, milk, nappies, and eucalyptus oil. Blankets and mats were also provided so that residents could rest properly.
To meet the need for clean water, Waskita also supplied three water tanks with a combined capacity of nearly 10,000 litres, along with various sanitation items including toothpaste, soap, toothbrushes, and towels.
Plt Corporate Secretary of Waskita Karya, Shastia Hadiarti, said the aid was distributed through posts run by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and BUMN Peduli in Nagekeo. It was then delivered directly to communities around the Mbay Dam project area currently being worked on by the company, covering Labowela, Ulupulu, and Rendu Butowe villages.
“Waskita Karya is committed to carrying out emergency response actions to support the people of NTT. Coordination with the regional government and BPBD continues to be strengthened so that aid distribution runs quickly and safely. We recognise that in situations like this, inter-agency synergy is the key,” said Shastia in an official statement on Monday (24/8/2026).
She added that the company is actively mapping needs on the ground so that the support provided is well targeted. Together with stakeholders, Waskita will continue to identify areas that have not yet received assistance.
“Once needs on the ground have been identified, we move quickly to distribute aid that matches the conditions in the field. In addition to food needs, Waskita is also ready to distribute vitamins and medicines to those who need them,” she said.
Shastia stressed that the company will continue to be present and provide benefits to residents, especially in emergency disaster situations. For Waskita, the earthquake in NTT is a national tragedy that must be addressed together.
“Waskita Karya hopes that all these efforts can help our brothers and sisters in NTT who are struggling to face this disaster. We will continue to pray and always support every recovery process underway,” she said.
