Warteg Owner in Bekasi Not Prosecuted, What is the Reason?
Police are not pursuing legal action against a man suspected of extortion at a warteg on Jalan Raya Pekayon, RT 02/02, Kelurahan Jakasetia, Kecamatan Bekasi Selatan, Kota Bekasi.
The man was found to have a mental disorder following police investigation into the viral social media incident.
Bekasi Metro Police Chief Kombes Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro stated that the perpetrator’s mental condition was a key factor in not proceeding with legal proceedings.
Kusumo explained that Tsani Sholehatun, the video uploader, did not expect the recording to go viral and had no intention of reporting the incident to the police.
“The warteg side is also wondering why this was made viral,” he said.
The incident drew public attention after a video posted by the Instagram account @moviestory_raisan on Monday (13/4/2026) showed a man forcing the warteg owner to give him money.
In the video, Tsani admitted to giving the man Rp 2,000, but he still demanded more and used intimidating language.
“My hand is above yours, Ma’am! If you force it, I won’t hold back. I respect you as a woman, I respect you as a human. Watch your mouth!” the man said in the video.
“Finally, before leaving, he said ‘watch out if we meet on the road’, ‘watch out I’ll come back’, ‘don’t blame if things get damaged’,” she wrote.
