Warning! Tanjung Priok Port Police Traffic Unit Letter Forged to Request Eid al-Fitr THR

A letter circulating that bore the police insignia and purported to be from the Tanjung Priok Port Police (Polres Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok) contained a request for THR. The Head of the Tanjung Priok Port Police, AKBP Aris Wibowo, has stressed that they never issued such a letter. “We from the Tanjung Priok Port Police do not issue that letter,” Aris told reporters on Thursday, 5 March 2026.

In the circulating photo, the letter was addressed to a company in the Tanjung Priok area, North Jakarta. The letter content stated that Satlantas Polres Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok hoped for Eid al-Fitr 1447 H holiday allowance.

At the bottom, the letter bears a full signature with a blue stamp. The signature line lists only “staff” rather than the full name and official position of a competent officer, which is atypical for an official document.

Origin of the fake letter Under investigation

Aris said they had coordinated with the Indonesian Truck Entrepreneurs Association (Aptrindo). He added that Aptrindo had also issued a clarification letter. The police’s letter is attached to prevent any party from being harmed.

On the other hand, Aris said the origin of the letter is being investigated. He emphasised that the Port Police did not issue the document. “Indeed (we are investigating). We are looking into it. Because from us, the Tanjung Priok Port Police did not issue the document,” he concluded.
