Warning of Arab War! Trump Encourages Muslim Nation to Invade Iranian Island

Several United States officials are reportedly encouraging the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to seize one of Iran’s islands in the Persian Gulf. According to a report by the British media outlet The Telegraph on Sunday (17/05/2026), this leak comes amidst swelling US war costs and dwindling missile stocks.

The targeted island is Lavan, a major Iranian offshore oil export hub featuring refinery, storage, and tanker loading infrastructure connected to several large crude oil fields. This strategic territory is also known to sit atop vast natural gas reserves.

This provocative plan reportedly originates from within the inner circles of major powers in Washington, suggesting that the UAE should take control of the Iranian island. “Just take those islands! It would be the deployment of UAE troops on the ground, instead of US troops,” said a former senior security official from the Donald Trump era, as quoted by the media.

The reported proposal reflects broader pressure in Washington to reduce direct US military involvement as the war against Iran enters its third month. Pentagon officials have even submitted shocking reports to the US Congress this month regarding the massive funds spent on funding the conflict. The Pentagon revealed that the war has cost the US approximately US$ 29 billion, largely related to expenditures on missiles and air defence operations.

Meanwhile, US defence analysts and military publications have warned that weeks of intensive attacks involving THAAD interceptors, Patriot systems, and Tomahawk cruise missiles have significantly depleted United States weaponry supplies. Since then, the Pentagon has accelerated efforts to replenish its inventory with low-cost mass-produced weapons from new defence companies, rather than relying solely on traditional military contractors.

The reported push for greater Emirati involvement also comes amid widespread reluctance among other US allies to deepen their direct participation in the conflict. Although Washington has pressured its partners for greater military involvement against Iran, including naval operations in the Strait of Hormuz, several NATO members in Europe, such as Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom, have openly distanced themselves from the war.

Conversely, the UAE has emerged as one of the regional nations moving closest to Washington and Israel during the war. Tehran has accused Abu Dhabi of serving as an enemy base for US and Israeli operations, retaliating with attacks on targets within Emirati territory. Emirati forces have reportedly conducted secret attacks against Iranian targets during this conflict, including strikes on Lavan Island last April. Saudi Arabia has also reportedly conducted limited attacks against Iran, but Riyadh’s ally has declined Emirati efforts to organise a coordinated Gulf military campaign against the Islamic Republic.
