Illegal levies (pungli) and the discovery of alcoholic beverage bottles in the Kalijodo Integrated Child-Friendly Public Space (RPTRA) in West Jakarta have come under intense scrutiny. Jakarta legislators have issued warnings to ensure that Kalijodo does not revert to its former reputation.

As reported on Monday (21/9/2026), the presence of several alcohol bottles and allegations of illegal levies at RPTRA Kalijodo surfaced after a video went viral on social media. In the footage, the recorder highlights the current condition of both the RPTRA and the Kalijodo Green Open Space (RTH).

For context, RPTRA Kalijodo is located in the Tambora area of West Jakarta, while the Kalijodo Green Open Space falls under the Penjaringan area in North Jakarta.

In the viral video, the individual highlights an illegal parking fee of Rp 10,000. Additionally, several alcohol bottles were found discarded on the grounds of Kalijodo Park.

Jakarta Provincial Government Follow-up

When contacted separately, Chico Hakim, Special Staff to the Governor for Public Communication, stated that Governor Pramono has instructed relevant departments to monitor RPTRA Kalijodo. He emphasised that such incidents must not be allowed to recur.
