Warm Moments Between Prabowo and Macron in Paris: Hugging and Cheek-Kissing

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The warmth between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and French President Emmanuel Macron was evident during their meeting at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Thursday, 28 May 2026. As Prabowo arrived at the Elysee Palace, Macron greeted him immediately after he stepped out of his official vehicle. Their camaraderie was further highlighted as they exchanged hugs and cheek kisses during their greeting. The two leaders also engaged in brief conversation while walking towards the main entrance of the Elysee Palace. During the joint session, Prabowo and Macron shook hands. Meanwhile, Didit and Brigitte were seen chatting amicably. In his remarks, Prabowo mentioned he has visited France three times this year. Additionally, Prabowo stressed that Indonesia-France relations are very strong. ‘Indonesia-France relations are, in my view, at their best so far,’ Prabowo said.
