Warm Moment Between Prabowo and MBZ, Breaking Fast Together and Praying in Congregation
President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with President Prabowo Subianto in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Thursday, 26 February 2026 local time. The meeting focused on enhancing investment cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE Judha Nugraha, and PT. Pindad (Persero) Director General Sigit P. Santosa.
The series of meetings continued with iftar and congregational Maghrib prayer. After breaking fast, dialogue continued in an expanded meeting to discuss a number of strategic agenda items, ranging from strengthening energy cooperation and investment to future economic partnerships. Prabowo and MBZ also held a bilateral meeting within these discussions.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that both leaders discussed concrete steps to deepen the strategic partnership between Indonesia and the UAE, particularly in the investment and economic sectors. He explained that President MBZ directly conveyed the UAE’s commitment to increasing its investment in Indonesia.
“The meeting discussed cooperation on increased investment. Bilateral relations are being elevated. The UAE wants to increase its investment in Indonesia,” said Teddy.
Teddy explained that the meeting simultaneously reaffirmed the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and the UAE towards a more comprehensive strategic partnership oriented towards the long term.
This increase in cooperation marks the strong and mutually beneficial bilateral relationship between the two nations. Indonesia is viewed as a key strategic partner in Southeast Asia, particularly in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and future economic development.
The Indonesian Government also welcomed the commitment and reaffirmed Indonesia’s readiness to continue strengthening a conducive and sustainable investment climate. Additionally, it committed to opening broader opportunities for collaboration with UAE investors in various national priority sectors.
