Warm Moment as Prabowo Sends Off Singapore PM

President Prabowo Subianto personally escorted Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to his departure at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base following the completion of his visit to Jakarta. A warm moment was observed as Prabowo accompanied Wong right to the steps of the aircraft.

According to the Presidential Secretariat on Monday (6/7/2026), upon arrival at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta, Prabowo and Wong were seen whispering to each other with warm smiles. Shortly after, the two leaders shook hands and chatted briefly.

Prabowo and Wong then walked side by side towards the aircraft steps, accompanied by a salute from the honour guard troops lined up on both sides. Prabowo personally escorted PM Wong to the aircraft steps.

The moment served as a symbol of respect and an affirmation of the increasingly close bilateral relations between Indonesia and Singapore.

Also present to bid farewell to PM Wong were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan, Singaporean Ambassador to Indonesia Kwok Fook Seng, and the Defence Attaché of the Singaporean Embassy in Indonesia, ME7 Gan Chee Weng Melvin.

The departure ceremony concluded the series of working visits by PM Lawrence Wong in Indonesia, which resulted in 26 cooperation agreements through the Indonesia-Singapore Leaders’ Retreat.
