President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, held a griya open house event in commemoration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta on Saturday, 21 March 2026.

Thousands of citizens welcomed the open house with great enthusiasm.

A warm and communal atmosphere was palpable as President Prabowo, accompanied by his son Didit Hediprasetyo, directly greeted the attending public.

Prabowo and Didit were seen mingling, shaking hands one by one with the citizens while conveying Eid al-Fitr greetings.

Enthusiasm was evident from the joyful expressions on the faces of the public, who for the first time experienced the Lebaran atmosphere within the Palace grounds. One of them, Sinta, a travelling masseuse, admitted to being moved because her dream of meeting President Prabowo had finally come true.

“Indeed, I have long dreamed of meeting him, and it has been realised. Alhamdulillah, I am happy. I cannot express it enough; may Mr President and his deputies have long lives and be blessed with sustenance,” said Sinta.

She also expressed her gratitude for stepping foot in the Presidential Palace for the first time in her life.

For Sinta, her presence at the Palace was not only to celebrate Lebaran but also to meet the President and Vice President directly.

“Alhamdulillah, it has been realised for me; perhaps Allah loves me. I even received a gift; I am so grateful for myself,” she added.

A similar story came from Fitri, a resident originally from Padang now living in Kebon Kacang. She admitted to feeling proud to shake hands directly with President Prabowo during the special moment.

“This is my first experience coming to the palace. Meeting Mr President, shaking hands, getting to clasp hands directly with Mr President—it feels so proud,” said Fitri.

Even though she arrived without special preparation, Fitri admitted to being satisfied with the experience obtained. She hopes that similar activities will continue to be held in the future as a manifestation of the leader’s closeness to the people.

“Hopefully, in the coming years, open houses like this will still be held,” she emphasised.
