Warm Moment as National Police Chief Gives Children Space to Create, from Storytelling to Aspirations
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo gave three children the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and share their aspirations on Tuesday evening. Faiha Samaira Khansa, Violina Firdausa, and Gilang had the chance to perform storytelling directly in front of the Police Chief.
The moment occurred during the peak evening of the Polri Creative Appreciation for the Community awards, held at The Tribrata in South Jakarta. After watching their performances, the Police Chief engaged them in conversation about school, family, and their future ambitions. The interaction demonstrated a focus on children not only through appreciation for their achievements but also by listening to their stories and hopes.
Faiha, who has just entered elementary school, expressed her desire to become a doctor. The Police Chief then encouraged her to keep studying and appreciated the role of her mother, who has accompanied and guided her. Meanwhile, Violina Firdausa, known as Vio, had a different ambition. After presenting a story about a girl who wanted to become a police officer, Vio revealed that she also aspires to be a member of the Indonesian National Police.
The conversation grew warmer when the Police Chief asked about Vio’s family. Upon learning that Vio’s mother was unwell, the Police Chief offered prayers for her swift recovery and advised Vio to continue studying and maintain her health. ‘Study hard, stay healthy always,’ the Police Chief advised.
Gilang received the same opportunity. After finishing his story, he spoke about school, family, and his wish to become a paediatrician. The Police Chief motivated him to keep learning, achieve his dreams, and make his parents happy.
The meeting illustrated the importance of giving children space to develop their skills, courage, and self-confidence from an early age. The opportunity to perform and be heard serves as a form of appreciation that can encourage children to continue creating while building the confidence to pursue their dreams. Through this interaction, the Indonesian National Police affirmed its concern for the growth and development of the younger generation. Children need not only protection but also space to learn, create, express ideas, and develop their potential optimally. Support for children is a crucial part of preparing the nation’s future generation. From the space to create and the courage to dream today, it is hoped a generation will grow that can one day make the best contribution to the nation and state.
