Warehouse in West Jakarta's Kelapa Dua Area Catches Fire, 17 Fire Engines Deployed
A fire destroyed a warehouse on Jalan Pos Pengumben Raya, RT 07/RW 05, Kelapa Dua, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta. A total of 17 fire engines and 80 firefighters were deployed to the scene.
The incident occurred on Thursday (13/8/2026) evening at around 11:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. The building that caught fire was a low-rise structure.
In a video uploaded by the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), the fire, which occurred near a main road, caused traffic congestion. Thick black smoke was seen billowing and was visible from a distance.
Local residents crowded the area after learning of the fire incident and witnessed the arrival of several fire engines.
"Object on fire: warehouse, low-rise building type," stated an official report from the Jakarta Gulkarmat Service Command Center.
Firefighting operations began immediately after officers arrived at the location at 11:07 p.m. After battling the blaze for approximately 30 minutes, the flames were successfully contained.
"Firefighting operation completed at 00:32 a.m.," wrote the Jakarta Gulkarmat Service Command Center.
As of now, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. However, there were no fatalities or injuries resulting from the incident.
