Wardiman supports Green Movement
JAKARTA (JP): Minister of Education and Culture Wardiman
Djojonegoro has called on all offices and schools under his
ministry, particularly those located in the capital, to help make
the Green Movement a success in order to preserve the environment
and prevent floods.
"School teachers should spearhead the movement and make their
students aware of the importance of the movement," Wardiman was
quoted as saying by Antara Wednesday.
Planting as many trees as possible is essential to the
movement, which was launched by the government two years ago.
Wardiman said it is high time for students, from elementary to
high school, to lend their participation. "Teachers should
explain to their students what they can do to further the
movement."(bas)
