'War on terrorism' tops Bush-Lee talks

UNITED STATES: President George W. Bush thanked Singapore Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew on Wednesday for his nation's "strong support" in the U.S.-led "war on terrorism" and discussed working with Indonesia to battle that scourge.

Bush and Lee -- whose talks a day earlier with U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney also briefly touched on China -- shared a warm handshake in the Oval Office before embarking on what a U.S. official described as "a good meeting."

An administration official, who requested anonymity, said the two leaders "discussed the problem of terrorism in the Southeast Asia region, and they also discussed working with Indonesia to fight terror." --AFP
