War against pedophiles demanded

DENPASAR, Bali: Some 200 children aged five to 13 years old in Bali have been the victims of pedophiles, mostly foreigners, a senior doctor has said.

They became the victims of the pedophiles after they were enticed with money or other kinds of gifts, said Prof. Suryani, the chairwoman of the Committee Against Sexual Abuse in Bali.

When meeting with the chief of Bali police Insp. Gen. Mangku Pastika, Suryani said they were children from Lovina beach in Buleleng regency and Karangasem regency, among others.

She demanded Bali police to declare war against the pedophil es.

The war was demanded because pedophilia could cause trauma to the victims of the pedophilia, she said. -- Antara
