Wanted! Bareskrim Hunts 2 DPOs in Malaysian Drug Network
The Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian National Police has placed two suspects on the wanted list (DPO) in connection with a narcotics case. The two individuals, M Nabil Haryadi (25) and Erwin (46), are being sought for the smuggling of 64 kilogrammes of methamphetamine from Malaysia to Indonesia.
In the DPO letter numbered DPO/87/VI/2026/Dittipidnarkoba, Erwin is described as having a height of 172 centimetres, weighing 75 kilogrammes, with short straight black hair and black eyes. He has a medium build and a tan complexion.
Meanwhile, the wanted notice for M Nabil is registered under DPO letter number DPO/90/VI/2026/Dittipidnarkoba, with characteristics including a height of 170 centimetres, weight of 60 kilogrammes, short straight black hair, black eyes, a medium build, and tan skin.
“Both have been designated as Wanted Persons (DPO) by the Directorate of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim Polri,” stated Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim Polri, in a statement on Friday (19/6/2026).
Brigadier General Eko Hadi said the two suspects are being pursued due to their connection with two previously arrested suspects, Indra Bayu and Solihin.
It is known that Bareskrim Polri had earlier arrested two individuals who were on the wanted list for a narcotics case involving an Indonesia-Malaysia network in Bengkalis, Riau. Dozens of kilogrammes of narcotics, including methamphetamine and ketamine, were seized by the police.
From the initial examination of Indra Bayu, the police did not find any narcotics or other illicit items. However, the police obtained information from Indra Bayu regarding the involvement of DPO Solihin, who acted as an intermediary in renting the speed boat used in the narcotics smuggling operation last May.
“Based on that information, at around 3:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, the team moved to Solihin’s house and managed to secure the individual concerned,” said Eko on Tuesday (16/6).
The two fugitives who were arrested are Indra Bayu and Solihin. Both were apprehended by the police at two different locations, but still within Bengkalis Regency, in the early hours of Tuesday (16/6/2026).
Prior to their arrest, Indra Bayu and Solihin were fugitives in a narcotics case involving evidence of 48 kilogrammes of methamphetamine, 15 kilogrammes of ketamine, and 20,000 ecstasy pills.
Brigadier General Eko stated that Indra Bayu confessed to working with Erwin and Nabil in the narcotics smuggling activities from Malaysia to Indonesia. In early May 2026, Nabil invited Indra Bayu to collect 45 packets of methamphetamine from Malaysia.
On 17 May 2026, Indra Bayu, Erwin, and Nabil departed for Malaysia using a speed boat rented through Solihin to collect the narcotics. Upon arriving in the Batu Pahat area, Sungai Panjang, Malaysia, the three were instructed to wait and spend the night on a sampan until they received further directions.
A day later, the three received two black cardboard boxes containing approximately 64 kilogrammes of unidentified narcotics from a Malaysian national named WAN, to be transported to Indonesia via sea routes. Upon entering Indonesian waters, the three spotted a pursuit by a Customs patrol boat.
“Fearing arrest, they decided to jump into the sea and escape through a mangrove forest, abandoning the speed boat along with the two cardboard boxes containing the narcotics,” he said.
