Want to Live in Meikarta's Subsidised Housing? Here Are the Requirements

Bekasi - Minister of Housing and Settlement (PKP) Maruarar Sirait explained that the construction of subsidized housing (rusun) at Meikarta Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java, is ongoing, with foundation work currently underway. The minister, often called Ara, said sales and handover are targeted for August or September 2026.

“When can the public complete the purchase? It remains on schedule for September 2026,” said Ara at Meikarta on Tuesday (26/5/2026).

Currently, 1,836 foundation piles have been constructed out of a total of 8,600.

“Pile installation and vertical construction will commence in June 2026,” he added.

“The target completion date for Meikarta’s subsidized housing remains August 2028,” he stated.

A total of 141,000 subsidized housing units, equivalent to 54 towers, are planned for the area, which Ara has reported to President Prabowo Subianto.

“The total planned units, which I have just reported directly to the President, amount to 141,000. This will be rolled out gradually,” he said.

The Meikarta subsidized housing will occupy 30 hectares of land across three locations.

“The requirements are the same as other subsidized housing units and can use the FLPP mortgage scheme,” Sirait said.

The eligibility criteria for Meikarta’s subsidized housing units, particularly for low-income households (MBR), are as follows:

• Indonesian citizenship, verified by a valid KTP (national ID card)

• No existing home or property ownership

• No prior government subsidies via mortgage or housing programs

• Employees with at least one year of service or self-employed individuals with a business operating for at least two years

• A maximum monthly income of Rp14 million for married individuals

However, the unit prices remain unconfirmed pending the start of vertical construction, targeted for June 2026.
