Interestingly, there’s an event in Jogja that attempts to address both needs simultaneously. You can still enjoy entertainment while learning to manage finances in a more realistic way. That event is the Jogja Financial Festival 2026, which will take place from 22-24 May 2026 at Jogja Expo Center.
This festival does not present itself as a rigid forum. On the contrary, the concept offered is more fluid and close to everyday life, especially for those beginning to be aware of their financial condition. On one side, visitors can attend discussion sessions and educational classes. On the other side, there are various entertainments that keep the atmosphere relaxed, including the live stand-up comedy show Lapor Pak! and the highly anticipated Arisan quiz.
In its programme, the Jogja Financial Festival also features a number of national figures who will share their views directly. Names such as Perry Warjiyo, Mukhamad Misbakhun, and Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa are scheduled to appear in Business Talk sessions.
Meanwhile, academic and economic perspectives will be filled by Anggito Abimanyu and Friderica Widyasari Dewi. From the host, the presence of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X as Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Hasto Wardoyo as Mayor of Yogyakarta, and Ova Emilia as Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada further strengthens Jogja’s position as the centre for this event.
Not only that, business world experiences will also be shared by Chairul Tanjung, a national entrepreneur and Founder of CT Corp. The presence of these figures makes the festival not only practically relevant but also rich in perspectives.
Outside the discussion sessions, the festival atmosphere is kept from feeling heavy. In addition to Lapor Pak!, visitors can also enjoy music performances involving Ari Lasso, Happy Asmara, Silet Open Up, and Juicy Luicy. This format makes the Jogja Financial Festival feel more like an open public space rather than just a formal education forum.
Before being held in Jogja, the festival initiated by Transmedia together with the Deposit Insurance Corporation had previously been held in Surabaya and Medan, with visitor numbers reaching tens of thousands.
The Jogja Financial Festival 2026 is open to the public and free of charge. However, visitors still need to register first to secure access to the location and participate in the available programme activities.
