Wang Yi: Xi's Proposal Offers Solution for Middle East Peace

Beijing (ANTARA) - China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has stated that President Xi Jinping’s four-point proposal regarding the development of a new security architecture in the Middle East offers a solution for achieving long-term peace and stability in the region.

Wang made the statement during a press conference with journalists regarding the conclusion of Xi’s presence at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek, as well as his state visits to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt.

Xi presented the proposal during his discussions with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, calling for efforts to optimise internal drivers, promote an integrated approach, strengthen development foundations, and enhance international coordination.

International observers believe that Xi’s proposal offers a realistic path to resolving security dilemmas in the Middle East, said Wang.

During the visit, Xi engaged in in-depth exchanges of views with leaders from various countries regarding various global issues and prominent topics, advocating for peace and defending justice, Wang added.

On the sidelines of the Bishkek Summit, Xi held separate meetings with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, and President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh of Mongolia.

Xi and Putin agreed to deepen comprehensive strategic coordination between China and Russia, advance global governance reforms, promote a multipolar world, and jointly maintain global peace, stability, and development, according to Wang.
