Wang Yi: Lack of China–US cooperation triggers misunderstandings

Beijing — The relationship between China and the United States affects the whole world, and a lack of cooperation between the two will lead to misunderstandings and confrontation, which would further undermine peace, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

“The relationship between China and the United States affects the interests of many parties and has an impact on the whole world. If the two countries do not work together, it will only lead to misunderstandings, misjudgments, conflicts, confrontation, and further damages to peace,” Wang Yi said at his annual press conference in Beijing on Sunday.

The press conference by the Chinese foreign minister was held on the sidelines of the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC), the country's top legislative body, which is being held in Beijing from 5 to 12 March.
